- oral allergy syndrome is also known as pollen-food syndrome
- for something that is little known and often thought of as uncommon, I have encountered this fairly often
- in the case of the people that I have encountered with oral allergy syndrome, they have had the symptoms for years without the problem being diagnosed
- the incidence of oral allergy syndrome is increasing
- symptoms are often mild, but can progress to systemic symptoms and full anaphylactic reactions
- not all people with oral allergy syndrome have known pollen allergies
- some people have reactions even when the food is cooked
- if you have oral allergy syndrome and pollen allergies, getting allergy desensitization shots, by lessening the pollen allergy, may be very helpful in lessening the food-provoked symptoms
